He knows what we're going through: A Christmas Reminder for Parents.

If you’re a parent, you know December can feel like a race — decorating, shopping, school concerts, wrapping, baking, planning. The days fly, and before you know it, Christmas morning comes and goes in a blur.

It’s easy to get caught up in making the season special and forget the reason it’s sacred.
Christmas isn’t about creating a perfect memory — it’s about remembering a perfect Savior.

When we say “Emmanuel — God with us,” we’re saying something deeply personal. God stepped into our world — with all its stress, worry, and exhaustion — because He knew what it was like to be human. He felt hunger, rejection, disappointment, and pain. He knows what you’re going through.

So in the middle of the chaos, take a deep breath and remember: you don’t have to get Christmas “right.” God already did.

We are designed with purpose

Ephesians 2:10 says,

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

That verse isn’t just a comforting thought — it’s a declaration of identity. You and your children were created on purpose and for a purpose. Every talent, every curiosity, every quirk was intentionally designed.

When we help our kids understand that truth, we’re not only strengthening their faith — we’re guiding them toward discovering their purpose in life. God’s design gives clues to their direction. The way they think, create, solve problems, and care for others can all point toward the kind of work and calling that will bring deep fulfillment.

Remind your children that their gifts aren’t random — they’re roadmaps.
The same God who placed the stars in the sky placed potential in their hearts.
And discovering that design is the first step toward a meaningful life and career.

When the season feels heavy

If this Christmas feels harder than others, you’re not alone. Maybe your child is struggling with friendships, grades, or confidence. Maybe you’re running on empty.

The beauty of Christmas is that God didn’t wait for the world to be peaceful before sending His Son. He came into the noise, into the tension, into the real life that we’re living right now.

That’s the message your kids need most — not that everything has to be perfect, but that God is with them, even in the imperfect.

A family reset for Christmas

Here’s a simple idea: sometime this week, sit with your kids — lights low, cocoa in hand — and talk about what you’re thankful for this year. Ask where they’ve seen God at work, even in the small things.

Gratitude softens hearts, resets focus, and reminds all of us that the story of Christmas is really the story of us — the people God loved so much that He came close.

Because Christmas isn’t found in what we wrap or plan.
It’s found in who we remember: the God who knows, cares, and still draws near — and who designed each of us with a purpose that leads to joy, meaning, and direction.
